Résumé

The World Data System (WDS) will held its International Scientific Committee meeting (for which Arona Diedhiou is a full member) on 10-11 April 2017, followed by a 2-day exploratory workshop on “Opportunities and Challenges for Data Initiatives in Africa” (12–13 April) organized in collaboration with IRD and OSUG at University of Grenoble-Alpes. This meeting on data initiatives in Africa is the first one at international level and will contribute to make trusted data services from Africa as an integral part of international collaborative scientific research. The main goal of this meeting is to review the data initiatives in Africa (including those led by IRD and IGE partners), to understand the associated opportunities and challenges in the aim to define how WDS can support these initiatives in the certification of data repositories. The aim of this proposal to LabEx OSUG@2020 is to request funding to contribute to the local organization of this international meeting in Grenoble.
