[Automn school ECOTUMN] “From Local to Global: Ecological Shifts and Adaptive Responses”

ECOTUMN is a week of English-language scientific lectures held in Grenoble and dedicated to major topics in ecology. It is organized this year by six first- and second-year PhD students from the Alpine Ecology Laboratory (LECA).
It is primarily aimed at PhD students interested in exploring recent approaches and findings in ecology and evolution.

This 2026 edition will take place from October 12 to October 16, 2026, and will focus on the theme: “From Local to Global: Ecological Shifts and Adaptive Responses”

The aim is to explore ecological and evolutionary responses of organisms and ecosystems to environmental change across scales, from local to global.

The program includes:

  • scientific lectures given by around 10 speakers from European research laboratories,
  • a poster session allowing PhD students to present their work and exchange ideas,
  • a scientific film screening followed by a discussion,
  • and a two-day field trip to the Col du Lautaret, to discover ongoing research at the Jardin du Lautaret and discuss topics related to Alpine biodiversity and field ecology.
  • We would be delighted to see many of you join us for this new edition.
Important information :
  • Priority will be given to the first 24 people to register.
  • Accommodation at the Jardin du Lautaret (15 October) will be in shared dormitories of 4, 6 or 8 people.
