Résumé

The present request is composed of two parts, both associated with training in the UK related to the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. The first part of the demand concerns visits to Dr. Chemel and Gabriele Arduini (PhD student) at the University of Hertfordshire. The aim of these visits is to benefit from the expertise acquired by G. Arduini in the development of a numerical model of the atmospheric boundary layer in an Alpine valley using WRF. Acquiring this expertise will be essential for the continuation of my PhD thesis. I already obtained an ERASMUS grant to support these visits, of 250 € per month for three months. In the present demand, I am asking for a complementary support to cover one-week visits during 3 successive months, starting in March. The second part of the demand deals with the participation to a one-week workshop on WRF involving tutorials, to be held in Durham (UK) next October. This participation will allow me to deepen my knowledge on the model, meet other atmospheric scientists using WRF and to discuss about the real cases simulations of my PhD work and related issues.
