Numerical Modelling Course at AEON-ESSRI, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa

In the framework of on-going collaboration between faculty members at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), in Port Elizabeth, South Africa (SA), I propose to offer a week-long course in numerical methods for the geologist with applications in geomorphology and thermochronology in Port Elizabeth to South African undergraduate (third year) and graduate students (MSc and PhD) in the spring semester of 2016. The course will be attended by students from several universities in SA. There is a strong need to develop these skills among university students in SA and I have a long experience in providing training in applied mathematics to geology students.
